Healthy Eating and Sample Menus

Our goal is to help your child develop lifelong eating habits. We do not serve foods with high sugar content. They will always have a whole grain food choice in their meal, with fresh fruit and vegetables. Below are two weeks of sample menus

Toddlers (18 months to 2 years) are served whole milk, and all other students are served 1% milk. Additional fruits are generally seasonal. 

​

The meals and snacks change based on seasonal produce and grocery availability, however our standard vegetable and fruit rotations are as follows:

​

Vegetable: Steamed Cauliflower, Broccoli, Cucumbers, Carrots and Salads

Fruit: Strawberries, Watermelon, Oranges, Bananas, Cantaloupe, Honeydew and Grapes

Indian Sabzi on Rotation: Paneer and Peas Sabzi, Potato Sabzi, Cauliflower Sabzi, Beans Sabzi, Blackeyed Pea/Bean Dal (Lobia Dal), Kidney Bean Curry (Rajma), Garbanzo Curry (Chole) and Black Chickpea Curry (Kala Chana)

Whole Wheat Vegetarian Quesadilla, Salsa, Green Spring Salad with Caesar dressing, milk, cantaloupe

Wednesday

Multi-Grain Cheerios with sliced banana and milk

Thursday

Quaker Life Cereal, Milk, Banana

Friday

Whole Grain Raisin Bread with smart balance butter, milk and apple slices

Multi-Grain bread sandwich with smart balance butter, fruit preserve, steamed broccoli, boiled egg, and milk

Multi-Grain flour potato stuffed chapati, dahi (plain yogurt), steamed cauliflower florets, milk and pears

Mac and cheese, spring salad with caesar dressing, milk and honeydew

Mixed Vegetable Rice Pilaf, Bananas and Steamed broccoli

Whole wheat Pita Pockets stuffed with roasted vegetables, baked skin on red potatoes, milk and watermelon

Dosa with vegetables, baked sweet potato, milk and pineapple

Multi-Grain flour potato stuffed chapati, dahi (plain yogurt), blackeyed bean/pea dal, steamed broccoli and milk

Cheese Burgers on wheat bread, garden salad, pineapple and milk
